Welcome to the Waitākere Vikings Basketball Club

Our club is located in Henderson.

Our player development program offers specialised training for kids who are serious about basketball, building off teamwork and sportsmanship centered around competing.

Without intensity there is no improvement – to improve you have to play hard, if you want to play hard, you need to compete.

We play in two leagues, Tuesday night basketball with Henderson Valley Basketball Club and Saturday afternoon basketball at Synergy Sports.

Vikings Coach
Rawiri (Rā) Pou.

Rā brings a wealth of basketball expertise and coaching experience to the Waitākere Vikings Basketball club. With many years dedicated to coaching youth basketball, he prioritises developmental growth, emphasising the fundamental skills, team-oriented offense, and player positioning and movement around defense.

The Cost to Join a Vikings Team.

Leagues:

We compete in two basketball leagues: League 1 is every Saturday afternoon, and the other League 2 on either Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights during school terms.

You can play in one or both leagues but you do not have to play in both.

Fees:

League 1 costs $130.00 per term. League 2 costs $50.00 per term, but you must be enrolled in League 1 to qualify for this discounted rate of league 2 if spaces permit.

Uniform Information:

A personalised uniform costs $92.00 + GST (which you keep and is an additional cost). Alternatively, we can loan a uniform for $140.00 + ($50 deposit one off at sign up) per term.

Practice Sessions:

Practice takes place either on Thursday for 1.5 hours.
