The Waitākere Vikings Basketball Club is committed to developing the skills of local youth and preparing them to compete at higher levels – giving both our players and our underfunded region greater representation in the sport.

Due to limited resources, we can only accommodate kids aged 12 to 18. Our teams play competitively in local leagues.

The Vikings Coaching program.

At Vikings Basketball Club, we develop young athletes by sharing our knowledge and experience. Our dedicated coaches play a vital role in this journey, using their expertise to inspire, guide, and challenge each player. Through structured concepts and drills, we teach modern basketball fundamentals and reinforce key principles through live play. Our athlete-centred coaching approach focuses not only on skill development, but also on building confidence, teamwork, chemistry, and a strong basketball IQ.

Rā brings a wealth of basketball expertise and coaching experience to the Waitākere Vikings Basketball club. With many years dedicated to coaching youth basketball, he prioritises developmental growth, emphasising the fundamental skills, team-oriented offence, and player positioning and movement around defence.

The Cost to Join is $160 per term including a loan uniform.

With the support of our generous sponsors and supporters, we’re able to play in local leagues across Auckland. This ensures our kids gain valuable competitive game time and can also participate in tournaments throughout the year — and our sponsors deserve a BIG thank you!

Kids joining this club must be 12 or older, placing them in U14, U16, or U18. We do not cater to younger age groups as we do not meet the necessary criteria to do so.
